1) I paid my daughter for her time, so she didn't miss out on that.
2) Both of my babysitter-age daughters have been "busy" when that family has called since.
3) I have heard that family pays in actual dollars now, and they pay decent. I think they figured it out.

In the long run, my daughter was fine, and we didn't create an awkward situation. You never know what people are going through, and as bugged as I was at the time, blowing off steam on CB was a much better outlet. I've since had the opportunity to take in some meals to them for some serious health situations they have going on, and they've been very appreciative. If I had responded differently then, it wouldn't have been as easy to help out now.
