More money by cutting out the middleman. At least that’s what the conference said would happen. That hasn’t exactly worked out well for them. Kind of par for the course for Larry Scott at this point.

My experience comes from my time there from 2016 to 2018...that’s after they signed those rights in 2015. I can’t tell you exactly what they were thinking at the time, but I can tell you they aren’t happy about it now. You might notice that no other conference has tried such a move. There’s a reason for that.
