They do not think it is appropriate to get into the arms race that has become college coaching. I don't believe we have to be on the top of the heap in spending, but $10 million more per year amongst all Coaching salaries would be a strong shot in the arm. It would be awesome if they would back the AD and reestablish it at to the level it was when Wilson/McMahon/Young/Bosco/Detmer & Ainge/Kite/Durrant/Smith were on campus. Back then the money wasn't as necessary to compete at the top level. Now it is, and that AD has lost much of its luster as a great flagship for the Church.
