No, it's as credible as any "I know this but nobody will say it publicly" story

The other stuff is public. A BYU coach confirmed that they were not allowing Bernard to transfer to Utah, Bernard's own family confirmed the same thing. We know Bernard was prohibited from transferring, because he didn't transfer, but instead went to a JUCO and got his graduate degree so that he didn't need permission.
