In the past 30 years I've seen dozens of vehicles come down this court only to find they can't get turned around. I've probably shared my rolling floor jack with 10 people to un-jackknife their jackknifed trailers.
Just now, I heard a diesel engine coming down the court and looked out to see a brand new Dodge dually with dealer plates bumper pulling a long flatbed trailer with 2 wrecked cars on it. The tandem axles on the trailer were so far back they were under rear axle of the rear car.
So, an extra long Dodge dually, with an extra long trailer, with the trailer axles further back than normal, all attached to the dually bumper coming straight into my small court. I immediately went out onto the porch to watch the fun.
At 90 degrees, the front corner of the trailer broke the left tail light.
At 88 degrees, the trailer shattered the tail light and destroyed the housing.
At 86 degrees, the trailer frame began to deform the chrome bumper.
At 84 degrees, the trailer frame curled the chrome bumper and began to crush the large dually fender
At 82 degrees, the dually fender cracked and collapsed inward to the interior sidewall of the bed
This was all in slow motion, making horrific noises throughout the operation. The driver remained staring at his side view mirror, I guess convinced these were normal trailer flexing noises.
He completed the turn and then drove out of the court about 30 yards and stopped, got out and went to the left rear of the truck and was completely shocked at the damage.
Hopefully he's a body shop guy that just picked up 2 cars to repair. Now he has 3.
