It seems silly but if you don't drink it's kind of out of sight out of mind. Alcohol also helps to recruit at every school but BYU (with most LDS recruits it doesn't) I went to Usu, and there's not a lot going on, but we had great parties and booze. Many college kids just want a good party scene.
