Plus in retrospect they didn't have any real reason to expand.
The conference is fairly solid right now. Texas is on the mend, OU is in the playoff. They have their valuable championship game with just 10 teams. There's even talk of CU and Nebraska wanting to come back.
Looking back now they'd probably regret expanding when they didn't have to.
