As for the two commenters who were disappointed in the behavior of our student fans ("disturbing, disgusting, and obnoxious", "not good kids"), apparently they are against a super-charged and supportive, young fanbase because that is what I saw. You see the same in packed student sections for the top NCAA basketball and football teams. It is part of what makes the sport enjoyable and attractive for the students.

As for our fans being right behind the server, well, the court has been set up that way for at least 15 years, probably more, for both men and women's matches. From true volleyball schools we always get high praise from their players and coaches for the environment and passion. Most wish they had that level of support.

Seriously, they must be reacting purely on emotion.
