Am I the only one who finds this kind of "video" irritating?

No video at all. Just a person (or, worse, a robot) reading a script set to a slideshow of marginally relevant pics gathered from a google search. I wish YouTube had some way to detect and mark these "videos" so I could skip them faster.

It depends on the subject. If it's recapping an older event where live video is unlikely, that's more forgivable.
