I thought that the new transfer rules made it so that the kids didn't have to sit out a year but that doesn't seem to be the case on this one. What am I misremembering or forgetting?

New transfer rules to not sit out a year? If it was a grad transfer, yes.

New transfer rules allow you to transfer after 4 games and play the next year.

Only if a grad transfer or he gets a waiver.
