Most concerned with OL and DL

I am actually pleasantly surprised with some of these late additions in the skill position/speed category. Ellison, Udo, Christensen and Sewell are all very plus athletes for BYU and nice additions. Add that to Roberts and Hill, that is a nice haul of speed players.

My problem is that most of the OL seem like projects. And the DL too, for that matter. If Grimes wants to make the OL the centerpiece and get back to brawlers who dominate the line of scrimmage, getting a bunch of projects doesn't seem to be the way to go. Gunderson seems like a tough kid who is more of a MWC type of guy. Unutoa I actually think is a steal and good get. Mitchell seems under talented but may develop. Freeland is a complete project. Honestly, at least on paper, Gunderson and Mitchell don't fit where BYU wants to be. Even if you are taking projects, they should be 6'6" maulers who are strong as an Ox. Some of these guys seem like undersized athletes better fit for an OL on a spread team.

BYU needs to start getting guys like Sagapolu or Kump last year. BYU needs to start winning the trenches in recruiting too. This should be Kalani's strength. For BYU to compete with the best, we need Ika, Kump, Sagapolu, Penei Sewell, Togiai, etc. I know all of the excuses about how many options these guys have. But, that is the point. BYU needs to win on the recruiting front to have a chance to win against P5 on the field.
