let BYU sports be like Alabama, even if money was absolutely no object. And as much as I would love BYU to be a juggernaut like Alabama - I'm okay with that.
While I realize that different pots of money go to different places, etc., I am in a ward where I don't think one person (outside of my family, one other family and the missionaries) even has a clue that BYU football exists. And given the severe financial struggles of many members of my ward (lots first generation immigrants from South Asia, the Philippines and Central America), I wonder how I would explain something like that to them. I doubt they would see it with the same awe and/or pride that they would a new temple or meetinghouse.
I am sure there are plenty of counterpoints to how I feel about it, but it's something that I think would bother me.
That said, from a pure college football fan standpoint, that place is awesome!
