Interesting article. There are only three FBS teams that DO NOT schedule FCS opponents: Notre Dame, the USC Trojans, and
the UCLA Bruins. This past year- 22 teams didn't schedule an FCS opponent. EVERY SEC team played an FCS team- in addition to only playing 8 conference games.
I get why FBS/FCS games benefit both teams, but I also think that there's something kinda cool about not scheduling a "guaranteed" win. (Yes, there are occasionally upsets, but I don't think Notre Dame, USC, or UCLA would.have to really worry about that.)
