He is a nice player, that offers some different looks, and has generally had a good season. He’s blocked punts, had great returns, run good options, had good runs. Maybe his intangibles help too, who knows.

But let’s stop short of the absurd hyperbole here. We can all be Taysom fans and not pretend every positive play he has is earth shattering, there’s middle ground here.

The Saints are a great team because of Drew Brees and Sean Payton and Michael Thomas and Kamara and Ingram and Lattimore and other defensive talent they have. Taysom Hill helps. He’s a Swiss Army knife. He does a lot of good things. But he’s a part time player. If the Saints didn’t have Taysom, their record would likely be exactly the same.
