My discussion is Ally or an equivalent of the same investment medium. I never said there is something wrong with a savings or money market account, nor would I suggest someone to invest money that needs to be safe. Again. There are better alternatives than Ally for the same purpose someone would seek from a savings account or money market. There are several banks right up there with Ally all of the time. Ally isn't "amazing".
But you won't find it if all you do is read the headline of the post. Nor will you find it if you are already convinced Ally is the love of your life. Google it if you don't believe me.
Are you sure you haven't defended Ally to the death with me or on the board before? This is feeling familiar.
If this debate is over a few thousand dollars, 99% of the population would say it doesn't matter. So, Ally would be fine if you are part of that 99%. I am the 1% that says it does matter. That lifetime habits compound with respect to wealth, and a few simple changes with your cash flow can make incredible differences over a lifetime. If it is more than a few thousand dollars, then it matters even more.
