He did a start-up a few years ago that just didn't pan out. He's gotten some more experience and has a new idea and financial backing. He feels so disappointed that he lost his investors money in the first start-up that he is carving out some of his own equity in the new company to give to his previous investors. First time I've ever seen someone do that.
