I traveled with her group in 2000 to bring school supplies and help out where we could in the school. I was amazed at how happy those kids were despite the hardship and poverty they experienced.

A colleague of mine and his wife traveled with the same organization a year or two later, so we compared stories. I said, "doesn't it make you grateful for what you have." He replied quoting his wife's observation. "Actually, it made us want to be happy with less."
