I think there's a case to be made that most AP classes could and even should be replaced with actual skill classes.
Replace AP Biology, AP history, BC Calc, and AP Chemistry with Personal budgeting (including basic saving and investing), plumbing, electrical work, vehicle maintenance, construction, gardening (hard for fall/winter), interpersonal relationships (conflict resolution), and taxes.

I did several AP classes and while they were a tiny college boost and they were prestigious, I would have much preferred to learn something useful.

For the record, PE, Arts and music should not be replaced as not only have they been shown to increase performance in all other areas, they are potential gainful skills in and of themselves.
