Admission of guilt here.
I went to Ricks.

Always loved BYU. Grew up a fan. Couldn’t wait to get there. Got married at Ricks and finished there. Got a scholarship to BYU for only one semester and turned it down. Had 3 years of scholarship at Utah state. I was an out of stater and didn’t understand the hate towards BYU until I got there. Frankly I didn’t care. Cheered for BYU while USU played them.

In the long run I loved my USU experience. It’s a great school imo. Has a great institute (admit I didn’t go because o was married).

In the end I have a great career. My BYU fandom has never wavered. My life is great.

We have a lot of emotions when something we yearn for so strongly doesn’t work out. I get that. I didn’t go to BYU. Yet I have loved my path.

There are options. If I had a 3.9 GPA and 34 ACT I’d take that to another school and turn it into a 4 year scholly and free school. There are blessings coming for those who put in the work and don’t go to BYU. Hard to see that tonight but they are there.
