Me either, but under the current system a lot of decisions that on the surface
seem "unfair" happen. Obviously we never have the full picture, but where a kid has nearly a 4.0 and very high ACT and doesn't get in while someone with lesser scores does, it can cause some issues. So the "holistic approach" can cause some hard feelings.

The elite approach can make it extremely difficult if only the "best" are picked.

The lottery at least takes away some of the subjectiveness and just makes it a luck of the draw sort of thing instead of a resentment sort of thing.
