I didn't do a scientific analysis of all the different services, but Sling wasn't satisfactory: not enough selection, interface not fantastic, DVR didn't work for my wife. Similarly I did a free PSVue trial to record a BYU game and it didn't work--mega frustrating, and that ended that experiment. Hulu and YTTV were thus the main contenders. Though Hulu had a few channels I'd have liked, with BYU sports being the driver, and with the guide as simple as it is, unlimited, painless DVR, that ended the analysis. Hulu's rising prices didn't help their cause. I may have gone their direction if there was more than a couple bucks' savings, since I already pay ~$11 a month for their ad-free service. But no, the price of adding Hulu Live incrementally or YTTV was nearly exactly the same.
