They are spreading false, harmful data, and presenting it as truth.
Facebook has committed to helping stop the spread of blatantly false news or fact reporting, in part because it can reflect poorly on facebook when it appears that they are a hub for that sort of thing. They are a private business and should have their own welfare in mind.
