death of me. It's just so so very foreign to romance language patterns. I felt like I had this foreign language thing with my Spanish proficiency but Japanese and it's three interchangeable alphabets + grammar structures is brutal. I had the unique experience in class a few days ago of being able to understand every single word in the entire two sentences and that includes all the verb and adjective conjugations but still not quite understanding what it was saying.

It was so bizarre. I just kept parroting back the words in English in the order I would normally place them when translating from Japanese, but it still didn't make sense!
