I’d say relative to his record as head coach, the overall attitude towards his
status sure feels like that. He got a ton of mileage out of winning a cakewalk bowl game that would have put him a game below .500 for his career if we’d matched up against a decent opponent.
Also, compared to the Rose furor, it seems many fans are content with actual mediocrity on the football field compared to mediocrity on the basketball court that is relative to success Rose helped create. It’s really weird to me.
