When I watched with an eye to what I thought the message was - I got it - and then it resonated with my personal life that as we get older we're not the young hot shot anymore, and slowly and slowly times and circumstances pass you by and your left feeling like the world you once knew know longer exists and you struggle to care about the world's future because nothing means anything anymore.

At the same time - that's how it is for every generation. It's probably a breakdown of the brain and body and not feeling a capacity to care anymore.
