Unless the country falls apart it’s fairly likely social security will be around.. even 40-50 years from now it’s expected to bring in at least 65-75% if benefits that are paid out of nothing changes. So sure you may be unlikely to have current benefits but benefits in some fashion are likely still going be there. Is it a certainty? No? Would I plan my retirement on it? No. But I still expect to get something
