If you haven’t seen Washington’s Matisse Thybulle play defense you are missing
something incredible. He is averaging 3.55 steals a game, leading all of NCAA with the guy in 2nd way back at 3.07. Today he set the Pac-12 single season steals record and he needs two more in the rest of the tournament to break Gary Payton’s all-time conference career record.
He is also 19th in the country in blocks per game with 2.32 and the only guy at his height (6-5) in the top 50. Most of his blocks come from behind on mid-range jump shots while he plays the top of the key in UW’s zone. He has incredibly long arms and is so fun to watch on defense.
