Of course there are not 3 teams from the MW that merit at-large consideration; just 2. So if someone besides those 2 wins, they get 3.

It’s like saying it’s hard to imagine the worst conference in the country as being tourney-worthy. Sure, nobody from there would get in on an at-large basis, but that’s what the auto bid is for.

I just don’t think the committee cares about quotas from conferences. They place all the conference tournament winners, then pick the next best 36 teams.

Of course people will disagree as to who those are, but that’s part of the fun.
