Coaches are just getting into their spring recruiting and HS players haven't even hit spring and summer camp circuits yet. An understanding of the most basic things in recruiting comes if you follow it for more than a few casual days through the year. 🙂

There are always a handful of people on here who mock offers to kids and look like fools. A bunch of people on here mocked an offer to a DB a few years ago because he only had an FCS offer. All of the typical insults about how BYU was never going to increase their talent if they kept doing this, blah blah from the experts who hurried over to lazily check offer lists. And this wasn't in March this was late in the football season, like mid November. Not long after BYU offered, he blew up with over 20 offers and ended up a 4 star that went to Florida. All of that happened in about 2 months toward the end of recruiting season one year.

Anyone who thinks something like this is an outlier is clueless. There's no one point before signing day where offer lists matter. Especially to coaches who have made a living not caring one bit about that stuff but instead rely on their own talent evaluation. Ya know, the guys who get paid 6 and 7 figures to do it. Guys on our staff have made a living off of having a great eye for potential regardless of stars and offers.
I'd love to know who you are to claim a kid isn't D1 material in March (or ever, for that matter). BTW, more than football goes into offers at different time periods as well. Not saying that's the case with Wilson, but just a general note that there are all sorts of circumstances for things in recruiting. It's a crazy game with a million reasons for a million different things.
