Conference affiliation, but being in the MWC is nothing. No respect unless we want to maybe play in a NY6 but no real chance for the playoff. AAC is pretty similar as we witnessed with UCF and an undefeated season
The WCC in basketball is nothing because unless we are Gonzaga, which we aren't, then the WCC is of no real benefit, but it is a place we have to call home and be grateful we had a place to play when everything fell apart. The national respect for the WCC is non-existent as evidenced by no other teams getting in to the dance even though the WCC was higher rated than the Pac12.
As a result, we embrace what we have until some other possible option presents itself. I like what Tom Holmoe is saying and doing, and that is putting ourselves in a position to be there with the next round of changes which will come.
Other than that I don't know what we could do. I much prefer Utah, USC, Washington, and Boise State at home, even with ISU and Liberty, than a focus of New Mexico, Wyoming, CSU, and UNLV on an annual basis for football.
