All of these people wanting to hire guys who have only been assistants scares me a little. I don't think you really know how a guy is going to be as "the guy" until he has actually been in that position. Being a head coach has to be 10x more challenging than being an assistant IMO. For that reason, and others, Pope would be my number one choice.
