New Salary: $25.8 Million per season
Machado

New Salary: $30 Million Per Year (10 Years)
Trout

Home Runs/OPS: 240/.990
New Salary: $35.8 Million
Based on the numbers, in relative terms the Angels got a steal. Trout has a higher career WAR than both Harper and Nachado combined. I have to give it to Trout, he is giving up much more money in two years when he would have become a FA.. Of course there are no guarantees, but based on the numbers right now, Trout, had he waited and become a free agent, would have commanded somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 to $50 million.
