Swag sales was part of the decision - Navy apparently sells much more than Royal
I know one of the main factors for the change was apparel sales. I think Nike convinced BYU that they would get more people buying and wearing gear if it was "the true shade of royal blue".
It was insulting to my intelligence that there was an attempt to sell navy as some kind of royal blue. It is navy and not royal. Still.
I would have no problem going back to royal full time,
