but I wasn’t overly impressed with their crowd, particularly their student section. I’ve seen and heard much better crowds for similar games at BYU.
Granted, UW isn’t in a college town with that kind of atmosphere but still — they’re in a big market with a top-ten program and they didn’t even fill the stadium for a top-25 matchup against an opponent that put more than its fair share of fans into the seats.
Similar thing with Boise State a few years ago the year we ran the fake punt. They were ranked and I think we might have been too. Didn’t fill the grocery store stadium, though their fans and students were more into the game than UW fans were.
I think we have a pretty good crowd when the team is winning games. Aside from the recent slide in quality of football, I think the game day experience and quality of the venue is lacking more than the fans inside it.
