I think you underestimate the draw of a big-name opponent for the first
post-Labor-Day home game when it’s early enough in the year that the weather should be fantastic and many of the students will be wanting to attend their first game of the year.
It will certainly not be a ghost town if BYU is 0-2. I would be shocked if it dipped under 59K.
The games later in the year, however, will be sparse if BYU is .500 or less.
