If you start listening to poetry on audio, you start to pick things up. It takes time to find things that you like but the more you listen to it, the more your taste will change.

Same thing with art. You start looking at more of it, then you get your favorites and then your favorites changed the more you experience it.

If you talk to people that spend a lot of time on poetry and art you start to pick up things you wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
