There’s been some hate directed at the crowd for cheering so much for him (I thought it was weird too). Honestly most the hate on here has been directed at the Jazz players for not being classy.
I think more what you’re referring to as hate isn’t that at all. It’s the collective realization that he has almost no shot at being a rotation player. He can’t defend in the NBA and that was on full display. There are a lot of bad defenders in the NBA but unfortunately he stands out as a guy you can and should pick on every play. And the jazz did.
That being said, shooting is the great equalizer and he definitely can do that. But he’ll always have a short leash if he’s not hitting because he’s a defensive liability.
