It matters because our peers are not experiencing the same attrition with the
same or better level of talent, that's why. If we're not an anomaly then chalk it up to the way things are. However, this is clearly a unique to BYU problem. And yes it's a problem by definition since other schools in our talent range aren't dealing with it.
So what is the driver? Lack of good coaching? Lack of development? Crappy scheme? All 3 no doubt contribute.
