To those wondering why interview Jensen if he is set on NBA? BYU & J.'s perspect
perspectives:

1) From BYU perspective: they don't know what they don't know. They don't know if they want Jensen or not. But Jensen is faithful LDS and has a great pedigree. Despite all the people saying BYU has no shot, BYU needs to at least confirm this. Further, if BYU wants to someday land someone like Jensen then they need to have a sit down with Jensen and learn what it is they don't know. If someone like Jensen isn't coming because of the honor code (not saying it is, just hypothetical) that's not going to change any time soon. But if Jensen doesn't want to come because of salary limitations, or facilities, or booster X, etc... Those are things TH can take home and start working on. But until you interview Jensen, you don't know what someone with his resume is looking for.

2) From Jensen perspective: once again, Jensen doesn't know what he does not know. There is literally no harm in interviewing. Putting your toe in the water to test the temperature is smart, and not a waste of time. One advantage obviously is it puts other options in the NBA (Jazz as well as another organization) as well as other options in the NCAA (Utah primarily) - that this is a man with options and if they want to move they had better make a move soon (in the case of the Jazz, it could simply be a raise) - but it never hurts your case to come off as a person with options. If you don't take interviews like this you are like the girl/boy at the dance who doesn't get asked by anyone to dance, and it lowers your vision of prospects in the future. However, Jensen may be tempted by an offer, he might not know entirely what the offer is going to be, or CAN be.

The interview helps both sides regardless of outcome.
