prison ship martyr's monument in Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn
The monument itself that you can see is just a tower. I think they do not give tours of the inside, but I think they do store some of the bones of the martyrs down in the crypt. Its also just a nice chance to walk around a little and see a little of Brooklyn. Dedicated to Rev. war martyrs. The british kept prisoners in prison ships in the NY harbor in horrible conditions and thousands of men died. Over the 20 years after the war their bones kept on washing up to the Brooklyn shore.
