Messi is in the Top 5, with Pele, Maradona, di Stefano, and Cryuff. Can’t really
be the GOAT, at least not a clear GOAT, if you’ve never been able to win a major international title with a national team like Argentina — preferably a World Cup, but at least a Copa America. He still has a couple more shots at it. If he can win a WC, he’ll be acclaimed as GOAT by most, IMO.
