Observations from the cosplayers by where I work in downtown SLC
I am always surprised at how few people dress up as someone from the MCU. Excluding spider-man who is hardly MCU (especially with the cosplayers' costumes), there was no one under 30 dressed as an MCU character. There were more wonder women or deadpools than there were all MCU characters combined.

DC didn't fare much better, though there were a few younger people dressed as a character from the DC cinematic universe. Heath Ledger is still the joker to dress as.

The younger group is much more into anime and elves than superheroes. I couldn't place most of the costumes.

Doctor Who and Rey from Star Wars are out. So is Harlie Quinn unless you are older. Princesses, pirates, and cats are still in.
