- If someone ever starts creating a scene in front of you for any reason, grip your stuff and hold it close and get away from the action fast.

- Never carry that much cash around, and if you do, protect it or space it out in multiple pockets.

- I have no idea what they look like, but two women traveling around who have enough money to take girls trips to Europe and carry around thousands in cash should do everything they can to a) travel in safe areas and b) dress in a way that doesn't paint you as a target. Easier said than done.

Sorry that happened to her. That sucks. I've traveled through much of the world and seen this stuff before. I also have to go to intelligence briefings where they teach us this stuff and tell us what to avoid. It's tougher on the women because they have more to worry about.
