Basically, who would I rather have on my team? Jokic is a really novel idea- a center that can pass! Wow! And then you remember Magic and the Big O and Larry Bird and Wilt (I know they're not all centers, but still). His numbers are great, and he's did a terrific job in the regular season and even has his team up 3-2 on the Spurs.
But your argument for him boils down to he played more games than Embiid. Well Rudy played every single game except the last game.
Jokic has the higher PER, Rudy has the higher win shares. Jokic is better in almost every stat except boards, but I still feel like Rudy affects the game more. Point guards aren't terrified of running into the paint against Jokic like they are with Rudy. To be able to build your entire defensive philosophy around one player, allowing him your perimeter players to play tighter against the three because they know Rudy can clean up if they drive by him? That's special.
So yes, Jokic had a terrific year, but I think Rudy was better.
