We did something similar but each child around 12-14 got to pick a trip to tag along with their Dad
on a business trip and they'd extend a few days to enjoy the sites. One they hit that age, we'd let them know of any trips that would work for that. It was a great way to help solidify their relationship as they head into the tough years.
