Four or five nights ago, baby woke up crying in the middle of the night, so I got up to check on him. Noticed I might have been sleeping with my head titled back over the pillow and felt some light front neck pain. Woke up in the morning to isolated pain in my neck only on my front left side. The most apparent symptom was pain swallowing. It didn't feel like a sore throat, it felt more like an obstruction or pressure being applied on the left wall of the throat. But I realized that if I just turned my head slightly to the left when I swallowed, there wasn't any pain. Advil also helped manage the pain. That was four or five days ago and the pain is subsiding while swallowing, but when I apply pressure just to left of my adam's apple where I'd go to check my pulse, there's still discomfort the deeper I press.
The only reason I'm asking about this is because this exact same thing happened about two months ago. It lasted about a week before the pain completely subsided. I had it checked by an ENT at the tail end of the symptoms. I can't remember the exact diagnosis, but my lymph nodes weren't swollen and he ruled out a few other things (infections) and chalked it up as a muscle strain.
Anyone else ever had this? I'm probably going to schedule a follow up, but interested to hear out the CougarBoard hive mind.
