30 years ago I was in my apartment at the Glenwood in Provo watching as the GOAT

(or, more accurately, the future GOAT), with his team trailing, hit a walk-off, game-winning, series-winning jumper at the buzzer to beat the favored Cavaliers in the NBA playoffs. It was a great, amazing moment for me as a neutral fan, and I remember it well (BTW, Jordan scored 44 pts in that game). But I never thought that, 30 years later, it would still be the only series-winning buzzer-beater in a do-or-die final game of an NBA playoff series. Turns out the moment was even more special than I thought it was at the time.

I wonder if I’ll see another one in my lifetime. Maybe we’ll get one tonight?

And there it is, finally. Not as dramatic as Jordan’s, since the game was tied, (chilango, May 12, 2019 at 7:37pm)
