When I was coaching I made up a game to emphasize the importance of intense but

clean defense. You would get 1/2/3 points based on your shots. But you would also get a point for a steal, block, or rebound. The other team would get a point if you fouled them. It was lots of fun, and very intense. We would play games to 21, but it wouldn't take long.
