had a similar experience growing up. kid in my scout troop beat a random stranger to death with a tire iron
he and his buds just driving around looking for trouble. couldn't find any, so they decided to create some. just some guy walking down the street and they all piled out of the car and killed him for no reason.
had never been in any real trouble before. boom! life in jail.
