No way those two should've shared the ROY award. Dallas had significant team improvement, going from like 13 wins to 36 or something like that. But I think Kidd got too much credit for that, though he admittedly did help the team improve. But Kidd's rookie year was the 3rd year for Jim Jackson and 2nd year for Jamal Mashburn, so they had improvements from each of them. And they went from nothing from Roy Tarpley the year before to 12 and 8 in the 55 games he played.
